First Impression by wedding and portrait photographer Lotta Polviander

Finnish wedding and family photographer, as well as SIGMA Nordic Ambassador, Lotta Polviander loves to photograph people in different situations, full of emotions. She believes that photos make us remember certain memories and momtents in life, to look back on. 

She decided to try out the new 50mm F1.2 DG DN | Art during a pregnancy shoot, really testing it wide open at F1.2. 

"- I loved how sharp, soft and fast the lens was! I usually don't shoot portraits aperture wide open, but I used F1.2 almost the whole session, and I think it worked beautifully! Usually, if I am having a portrait session, I keep aperture close to F1.8-2, but with this lens it was fun to test to shoot aperture wide open. Of course it depends on how close I am to the subject, but with this session it worked perfect", Lotta says. 

You have to judge for yourself, but we think Lotta managed to capture the emotions in this shoot perfectly, being able to sense the feeling of the shoot through the photos.

First Impression by street photographer Bobby Anwar

Danish street photographer, and SIGMA Nordic Ambassador, Bobby Anwar is self-taught and photography is a way of expressing himself creatively and a meditative process of dealing with life´s challenges. Creative impulses have always driven him, and he often works in a muted melancholic color scheme. 

Bobby loves a 50mm lens and took it out on the streets of Copenhagen to test this out for some low-light photography. 

"- The 50mm focal length has always been my favourite. It was the first focal length I shoot on and my first ever lens was also a F1.2. A 50mm focal length is perfect for portraits but it’s also telephoto enough to create compression of the background and create a cinematic look. And just like a huge bunch of nuts out there; I LOVE BOKEH haha. Jokes aside, I often shoot in low light scenarios (check my instagram)", Bobby says. 

"- So I need as much light I can get from my lens as possible. Besides that, even though this is a heavier lens, the auto focus is super fast! It actually looks heavier that it really is! It´s been super fun to use and I can´t wait to add it to my collection", Bobby says.
